Jimmy was born on June 26, 1942, in Flint, Michigan, to James and Teresa (Antonio) Del Duca. He was a proud graduate of Grand Blanc Schools and grew up in his family’s well-drilling business, Del Duca and Son Well Drilling. An entrepreneur at heart, Jimmy explored various ventures, including nightclubs and co-owning Big D’s Dairy Delight. His impressive career included helping to build Pine Knob and the Hamburger Mansion, establishing himself as a major player in the Detroit area.
A true jet-setter, Jimmy spent weekends flying to Las Vegas and Canada, experiencing life to the fullest. He owned Pesto’s Pizza and was an active staple at Denam Auto Brokers and Trailer Sales, where his dedication and service were unmatched. Even in his later years, he continued to support customers at Del Duca Well Drilling, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to family and community.
Known for his captivating storytelling and larger-than-life personality, Jimmy’s tales often left his friends in disbelief, reflecting the extraordinary life he led. His favorite haunts included Italian Gardens and Fenton Hotel, where he spent many joyful Friday nights.
As a beloved family member and friend, Jimmy leaves behind his devoted caretaker Robert D. Denam of Grand Blanc; his son, Jim, and wife Tracey Del Duca of Grand Blanc, along with grandchildren Karan and Braylon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Del Duca family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dolores Cooke.
In the words of Jimmy, goodbyes were not an option; only “See ya's.” With kisses on both cheeks and a promise of “I’m calling Detroit,” he enriched our lives and will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Jimmy. Your legacy of laughter, love, and adventure will forever live on in our hearts… “NO discussion!”
