COOK, James A. - age 83, of Flushing, died October 26, 2021. Private services will be held with interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. James was born April 25, 1938 in Flint, the son of Lyman and Antoinette (Bernarsky) Cook. He married Betty Barette on July 11, 1959. James retired from General Motors as a Millwright after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Swartz Creek VFW Post #3720 Honor Guard, American Legion Post #292, and St. Robert Catholic Church. James enjoyed woodworking and woodcarving. Surviving are: wife, Betty of Flushing; four children, Tammy (Richard) Butts of Norville, MI. Mark (Jennifer) Cook of Temperance, MI, Deandra (David) Achammer of Denver, CO, and Tony Cook of Mancelona, MI; grandchildren, Michelle (Ted) LaCross, Mandy (Kurt) Slay, and Mark Cook; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Madeline, Leola, Korbin, Daisy, Hayden, and Payden; sister, Lorraine Cook of Flint.
