James Robert Carr

CARR, James Robert (Bob), age 98 of Grand Blanc, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023.  Per Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment service will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Bob was born on July 24, 1925 in Flint, Michigan to the late James M. and Marion (Tamlyn) Carr.  He graduated from Flint Central High School and married Margaret Alice Osborne on January 7, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He served our country with the United States Army during World War II from 1943 - 1946 in New Guinea, Leyte Philippine Island, Luzon Philippine Island and Yokohama, Japan.  After Bob's honorable discharge from the Army, he attended Ferris Institute in 1947 before working for more than 25 years at Buick Motor Division.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret;  children, Charles Robert (Lorine) Carr of Tucson, AZ and Carrie Jane (James) Nietert of Grand Blanc;  grandchildren, Timothy (Stefanie) Nietert of Euless, TX and William (Danielle) Nietert of Frisco, TX;  great-grandchildren, Lucas, William, and Sloane;  also surviving are several nephews including special nephew, J. Kim (Sherry) Fent of East Lansing and special niece, Nancy (Warren) Bixby Jones of Dalton, PA.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister and her husband, Kathryn J. (James V.) Fent; father-in-law and his wife, Owen (Gladys) Osborne; sister-in-law and her husband, Helen (Leon) Bixby.
