James Bundoff

BUNDOFF, James John -- Age 86, of Byron, died December 29, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines, Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 2-8 PM on Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and from 9:30 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the church. A rosary will be prayed 7PM Monday, at the funeral home followed by a Knights of Columbus service. The family encourages those desiring to make contributions, to consider donating blood to the American Red Cross. James was born July 25, 1929 in Detroit, the son of James V. and Catherine (Urbanek) Bundoff. He was a veteran of the US Army where he held the rank of Master sergeant. James married Mary Eplett on November 20, 1954 in Northville. He retired from Michigan Bell in 1992. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was a 4th Degree Knight and also served on the Parish Council. He was a member of Gaines Lions Club. He loved his family and the outdoors. Survived by: wife, Mary, children; Denice (Tom) Hoitenga of Evart, MI, James M. (Judith) Bundoff of Mio, MI, Joan (Eric) Bates of Lake Orion, MI, 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Rose Sessions, brother, Chris (Jean) Bundoff, as well as several nieces and nephews.
