BORKE, James Edward -- Age 62, of Fenton, died October 10, 2009 at his home. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, October 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gaines. Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Thursday, 2-5 and 7-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. There will be a Knights of Columbus service and Rosary at 7 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren Hospice or the American Cancer Society. James was born September 30, 1947 in Detroit the son of Benjamin and Jane (Gill) Borke. He had resided in Fenton for the past several years coming from the Durand Area. He was a 1965 graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School. He attended U of M and graduated from Eastern Michigan University. He married Janette Day in 1969 at St. Luke's in Detroit. He worked for General Electric in Detroit after college as an accountant, and then became a financial analyst. He then left General Electric, and he and his wife purchased Walnut Hills Campground in 1990, and retired in 2003. Surviving are: wife Janette; four children, Michelle Auger and Robert of Hopedale, MA, Jeffrey of Howell, Robert of Fenton, Patrick of Howell; five grandchildren, Katherine and Robert, Danielle, Christopher and Nicholas; brothers, Richard of Walnut Creek, CA, Thomas of Canton; sister, Irene Drews of Novi.
