James Booth, Age 64, originally from Burton, Michigan, passed away on April 1, 2025. A memorial gathering will be held 11:30 AM Sunday May 4, 2025 at the Open Door United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd, Burton, MI 48519. Those desiring may make contributions to the Open Door United Methodist Church.
Jim was born on July 30, 1960, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Cliff and Margaret Booth. He grew up in Burton, graduated from Bentley High School, and later earned a degree in computer science from the University of Michigan, Flint. He married the love of his life, Jennifer Crane, on May 24, 1998. Jim was a pillar of Atherton United Methodist Church (now Open Door United Methodist Church) in Burton, and played a critical role in keeping the church running. He loved computers, cycling, and was always ready to drop everything to help out friends, family, or members of the community.
Jim is survived by his wife Jennifer; Zoe (the cat); his niece Lindsay Hill (Ian Ramjohn); nephews Justin (Callie) and Clayton (Nicky) Hoover; brother-in-law John Hoover; mother-in-law Peggie Hurteau; brother-in-law Marc (Heather) Crane; niece Megan (Jeph) Foster; nephew Christopher (Cristal) Crane; great-niece Brooke Bradshaw; great-nephew Jonathan Bradshaw; and cousins Shirley Wells, Kim Goodall (Ladd), Ken Wells (Kelly), Kevin Wells (Jennifer) and other family members. He was predeceased by his parents Cliff and Margaret; his sisters Carole Hill and Linda Booth; and his nephew Kristoffer Hill.
