BEATON, James, "Scotty" - Age 86, of Flint, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at home. Services will be held 7PM Monday, April 27, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. The family will receive friends 6PM Monday until time of service at the funeral home. Scotty was born June 9, 1922 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of Peter Beaton and Agnes Davidson. He was a veteran of His Majesty's Forces serving in the Merchant Navy from 1941 to 1946. Scotty moved to the Flint area in 1972, and was employed by AC Delphi as a Machinist until retirement. Surviving are close friend, Wendy Olsen; daughter, Maureen Sorrenti; grandson, Dax, both of British Columbia; siblings, Ian Beaton and Betty Taylor of Edinburgh, Scotland, Agnes Raja of Abbottsford, British Columbia; and many nieces and nephews.
