BAUER, James Philip, age 71, of Fenton, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Hurley Hospital. A memorial service will be 11AM Monday, January 28, 2008 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton, Pastor E. Taveirne officiating. The family will receive friends 10AM Monday until time of service at church. Burial of cremated remains has taken place. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Hurley Regional Medical Center Coronary Care Unit or Genesys / Hurley Cancer Center or Fenton United Methodist Church. James was born August 24, 1936 to the late Theodore and Lenore (Priehs) Bauer. After Theodore's death Lenore married Carroll "Pat" McGuire who is predeceased also. Jim lived in Fenton and Linden and graduated from Fenton High School in 1955. After high school, he worked in the block plant, he owned a gas station in Linden, then went to work for Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant in Flint. He then retired out of the Tech Center in Warren in 1993 with 30 years of service. He then went to work for Focus Hope in Detroit until 1997. He attended Fenton United Methodist Church. He married Nancy Alexander in 1959 and she preceded him in death on March 8, 1998 and had a son James David who also preceded him in death on September 4, 1997. He then married Patsy Alexander in 1999 who survives him. Also surviving are nephew/ step-son, William and wife, Dyan Alexander, and their children, Brendan and Jennifer all of Texas; niece/ step-daughter, Kristen and husband Dan Canning; grandchildren, Kelly and Alexander Canning; brothers, Ted and Cherrile Bauer, Gerald Bauer, Ronald and Tonya Bauer and Ralph Bauer; sisters, Norma Tinker, Joyce Copeland and Susan Bauer; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe Cmejrek and Wayne Millington. Jim enjoyed many friends, playing golf and cards and sharing shrimp. The family wants to offer special thanks to Dr. Thomas, Dr. Filos, Dr. Katneni, Dr. Pandragani, Dr. Danish, Dr. Farner, the nurses at Hurley 4th floor CCU and everyone involved in his care.
