James Waddill

WADDILL, James Arthur- Age 68, of Durand, died Sunday, December 8, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 27, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Chaplain Ron Kenney officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday December 26 from 4-8 PM and Friday December 27 from 10 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association. Jim was born March 20, 1951 in Flint, the son of William Hanks and Barbara Anne (Meek) Waddill. He was a 1969 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and had attended Mott Community College. He married Terri Lynn Muchler March 20, 1997 in Waterford. He had resided in Durand since 1980 coming from Swartz Creek. Jim was an Auto Mechanic for many years; Jim was on a Pit Crew for the Mint 400 and Baja 500. Jim went on to become very involved with Go-Kart racing. In 1990, he placed seventh at a Go-Kart Midwest Championship in Indianapolis and was the champion in 1992 and 1994 at the East Lansing Kart Track. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Surviving are: his wife, Terri Lynn; son, William Waddill (Regina Trevino); grandsons William Waddill and Duque Waddill; and granddaughter, Barbie Waddill; all of Texas; step grandchildren, Sara Trevino, Jared and Joseph Budd; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Kathy (Arthur) Ridley of Swartz Creek; brother, Ronald Waddill of California; and nieces and nephews.
