SWEGLES, Jacqueline Phyllis (Coleman) - Age 70, of Linden, passed away May 4, 2021, in her home surrounded by family. Jackie was born October 3, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Walter and Phyllis (Callaway) Coleman.
Jackie graduated from Bendle Schools in 1968. Jackie was active in basketball, cheerleading, speedball, and track. After high school, she attended cosmetology school. She worked as a cosmetologist for over 45 years. Clients and colleagues became long-life friends. One customer noted many years ago, Jackie was an Angel sent from God.
In 1976, she met Charles Michael Swegles again (not knowing at the time they were childhood friends) and married on May 14, 1977. Jackie was a loving partner, wife, and best friend to Charles, where they lived a happy and loving life on Byram Lake in Linden. Jackie was most proud of her children Kelli and Jonathan and their accomplishments throughout life. Jackie loved watching her children play sports, being their biggest fan. She carried that out with her grandchildren, as well. Jackie gleamed with joy and happiness over her grandchildren, Alexia, Gracie, Emery, Hayes, and Whittaker.
Jackie devoted her life to serving and loving those around her. Many summers were spent planning senior citizen parties for loved ones and their friends. Jackie participated in many races, a lot of them along the side of her brother Randall. Jackie loved to sew and made blankets for her family and friends. During her children's school years, she volunteered at Linden Schools, wherein in 1989, she was given the Outstanding Volunteer Service for Linden Schools award. She always enjoyed days on the lake, soaking up the sun and fishing. Her yard was always graced with beauty as she put in hours planting and perfecting the flowers every summer. She was known for her kind heart, personality, athleticism, and her unconditional love. Her smile blessed anyone who walked across her path.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Kelli (Anthony) Pierscinski; son, Jonathan (Angela) Swegles; grandchildren, Alexia, Gracie, Emery, Hayes and Whittaker; mother, Phyllis Coleman; brothers, Randall (Marion) Coleman, Terry (Rita) Coleman; sister, Sandra (Eddie) Elfline. She was preceded in death by her father. Private services will be held and will be live-streamed at 2PM Saturday, May 15, 2021 on Jacqueline's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
