Jacqueline J. Hosler

Jacqueline J. Hosler, age 93, of Flushing, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Visitation will be held at 11am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Jacqueline will be laid to rest with her late husband, Jack at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Jacqueline was born on May 25, 1931, in Barryton, Michigan, the daughter of Dudley and Iva Tice. She graduated from Barryton High School, class of 1949. Jacqueline furthered her education at Great Lakes Bible College as part of their inaugural class and the first female student. She transitioned to Central Michigan University and earned her Master's Degree in Education. She married the love of her life, Jack LeRoy Hosler, on April 28, 1951. After teaching several years for the Lake School System, the family moved to Flint where she taught kindergarten at Merrill Elementary School for 40 years and later worked as their librarian before retiring.

Jacqueline had an artistic mind. She loved to create beautiful quilts and kept pristine flower gardens. She was a woman of strong faith and regularly attended church, where she taught Sunday School and served as a music director. In the earlier years she and her family took many summer road trips, visiting family in California, Washington, Florida, and South Carolina, stopping along the way to see many national monuments, parks, and museums. She also traveled to other countries, including Canada, Mexico, the UK, Israel, and China. Above all she cherished her family and loved them deeply.

She is survived by her three loving children, Debra (William Burdgick) Hosler, Robin (Ronetra) Hosler, and Kimberly Couchman; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
