Jacob Schamberger III, age 75, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, those desiring can direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Genesee County.

Jacob was born on October 22, 1949 in Adrian, Michigan, the son of the late Jacob and Edna Jeannette (Pletcher) Schamberger Jr. He graduated from Catholic Central in Adrian, class of 1967. He continued his education at Michigan State University where he earned his bachelors degree in civil engineering and subsequently earned his PE license. Jacob lastly worked as the Deputy Drain Commissioner of Genesee County Water and Waste Services. Following his retirement, he received his builders license. In his free time, he enjoyed watching MSU basketball and football, gardening, oil painting and playing the bass.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Penny; children, Heather (Brian) Russell, Kevin (Alea) Schamberger and Lisa (Glenn) Barnhill; grandchildren, Victoria (Luke) Amesbury, Alexander and Erickson Russell, John and Henry Barnhill, and Gabriel Schamberger; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Evelyn and Natalie; and siblings, Janet (Jeff) O'Connor, Laura (Jim) Lyall, Steve (Rosalind) Schamberger, and sister-in-law Mertie Schamberger.
