Jacob Collins

Collins, Jacob - Age 78, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away November 24, 2024 after a long illness. 

Survived by his wife, Vicki Lewis Collins, of 36 years; children, Christopher Collins, Candace Collins Wert (William Wert), Christina Collins Oskey (Aaron Oskey), Catherine Collins Feldmann (Gregory Feldmann), Caroline Collins Biscorner (Jason Biscorner), Jacob Collins Jr (Vanessa Gonzales), Claire Elisabeth Collins (Jane Lyszac); grandchildren, Samantha Collins, Lauren Fraser, Anna Fraser, Nadia Oskey, AJ Oskey. He was preceded in death by his father, JR Collins; mother, Connie Collins, and sister, Pamela Collins. 

Jake was born in South Gate, California, on January 21, 1946 and graduated from Millikan High School of Lakewood, California. Jake served in the US Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard during the Vietnam War. He moved to Michigan and graduated with his MBA from the University of Michigan of Flint. He worked in Medicare Services as Director for Health Plus of Michigan. He was a professor/lecturer of Strategic Planning and Health Care Administration at the University of Michigan Flint. 

Jake was devoted to his family, the community of Flint, and his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ. Jake served on many community boards in the Genesee County area and was active with the Gideon's Bible outreach for many years.

A Memorial service with military honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, at a later date. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507.
