HENSLEY, Jackie D. "Jack" - Age 77, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-9 PM and Wednesday from 1-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association. Jack was born July 12, 1931 in Paragould, AR, the son of Jesse and Mabel (Tabor) Hensley. He has resided in Swartz Creek the past 20 years, coming from Flint. He married Ruby J. Thompson September 23, 1995 in Swartz Creek. Jack was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Sears Roebuck. He is survived by : wife, Ruby; 2 sons, George Hensley of Flint and Mark Hensley of Ann Arbor; granddaughter, Serena; 2 step daughters, Nancy and husband Frank Parkin of Swartz Creek and Barbara Grooms of Flint Township; 4 step grandchildren, Darren Thompson of Florida, David Thompson of Florida, Boyd Grooms of California, Chris Carey of Rockford; sister, Mary "Polly" Scoby of Swartz Creek.
