PYLES, Jack D. Age 70, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2009 at Genesys Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Michigan. Visitation will be Friday 1-4 and 6-8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. under the auspices of Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458 F&AM. Following the funeral on Saturday he will be cremated. Jack was born in Flint, MI on April 4, 1939, the son of Kenneth J. Pyles and Jeanne Rapone and had a stepmother, Alberta Pyles. He married Jennie Fisher on June 18, 1960. Jack was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458 F&AM, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1971, the Durand Eagles Club and a member of the Oscoda Yacht Club, where he and Jennie enjoyed their boat and fishing together for 18 years. He was employed at Buick for 35 years, retiring in September 1995 as a General Foreman. Surviving are: wife, Jennie; one daughter, Jana and husband Britt Walther; three grandchildren, Justen, Kali and Kelsey Walther; stepfather, Henry Rapone of New Port Richey, FL; half-sister, Janet Pullicin of St. Petersburg, FL; step-brother and four step-sisters, Sonny Case and wife Nora of Harrison, MI, Phyllis Gee and husband Jack of Laingsburg, MI, Glenna Brown of Grand Rapids, Beverly Hayes of Durand, MI; step-brother-in-law, Mike Shaydik, who was married to his step-sister, Jackie who is deceased; brothers-in-law, Joe (Kathy) Fisher of Ann Arbor, John Fisher of CA, George (Donna) Fisher of Swartz Creek; many wonderful nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter and his friends and family have fond memories of his adventures. We were all proud to be a part of Jack's exemplary, high integrity life. His family was always number one in his life and he will be sorely missed.
