HEIDTMAN, Jack - age 90, of Linden, died Monday, September 7, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, September 11, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, with Rev. Fr. David W. Harvey celebrant. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery with veteran's honors performed under the auspices of Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post # 3243. Visitation will be held 1-5 and 7-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden where a Knights of Columbus vigil service will be held at 7PM Thursday evening. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of service Friday. Mr. Heidtman was born July 7, 1919 in Flint, the son of Herman F. and Flora M. (Gardner) Heidtman. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Mr. Heidtman married Mildred Gardner on December 20, 1947 in Flint and she preceded him in death on November 22, 1981. He attended General Motors Institute and retired from AC Rochester after 37 years of service. Mr. Heidtman was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and member of the Fenton Eagles, D.A.V, Fenton VFW and the U.A.W. local 651. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, reading, crossword puzzles and playing cribbage. Surviving are: three children, Michael F. Heidtman of Linden, Kay L. Hayes of Grand Blanc, Ronald J. Heidtman of Gaines; daughter-in-law, Tracy Heidtman; 5 grandchildren, Carrie (Sean) Beaudry, Johnnie Hayes, Robert Hayes, Michael Heidtman, Nicole Heidtman; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Beck; many nieces and nephews.
