Jack Briggs

BRIGGS, Jack - age 84, lifetime resident of Fenton, passed away on December 17, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 30, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 12noon to 5pm on Sunday, December 29 and from 10am Monday until the time of the funeral. Mr. Briggs will be laid to rest, with military honors, at 1pm Monday, December 30 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jack to The LaVigne Home, 4085 Lapeer Rd., Burton, MI. 

Jack was born on August 10, 1940 in Flint, Michigan to the late Floyd Oliver and Lelah June (Barnhart) Briggs. He graduated from Carman High School before serving our country with the United States Marines. He married his childhood sweetheart, Mary Louise Lanning, on October 30, 1964 in Fenton, Michigan. He worked as an electrician for 47 years with General Motors, he was the secretary for the Land O Lakes Bow Club for over 30 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary. Children, Leo (Ginny) Kinne of Gaines; Chris (Kim) Kinne of Gaines; Rhonda Fisk of Flint; Tina (Mike) Robertson of Burton; Shelly (Mark Montreuil) Briggs of Highland; Michael (Sharon) Briggs of Linden. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Siblings, Duane (Joanne) Briggs and Lenora (Chuck) Gann. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maxine Pluta.
