Jack Lee BATSON

BATSON, Jack - Of Fenton, age 65, passed away July 1, 2009. A viewing will be held from 2-8 PM Sunday, July 5 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday, July 6 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Jack was the rock that sustained Adopt-A-Pet in Fenton for many years. He had a heart that never stopped giving to animals and people. He will be sadly missed by his Adopt-A-Pet and Case's Island families and all who knew him. Jack had many interests in life which included boating and being at his home on Case's Island, flying his plane he and his friend Bill Wedel owned together, and being a member of the Fenton Eagles and Moose Lodge. Recently, he began studying the Catholic faith and was very proud to become a part of St. John's in Fenton. He will be especially missed by his brother Max (Helen) Mitchell, brother-in-law Foster Gillespie, nieces Allcia (Dale) Lear and Paula (Stephen) Foster, Michelle Mitchell, Erin Robbins, nephews Jim and Troy Mitchell, special aunt Doris Batson and many other family members as well as extended family - Julie, Shane, Mike, Shawn, Robin and Mariah, Jody, Mark, Mackenzy, Alec and the Wease family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Estelle Batson, sister, Peggy Gillespie, nephew Michael Mitchell, Rob VanAuken, Jr. and his beloved, Shirley Moleski.
