Jack Artibee

ARTIBEE, Jack M.- Age 80, of Flint Township died March 15, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, March 19 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Samuel Hacker officiating. Visitation will be held 1-4 PM and 5-8 PM Friday, and 10 AM until time of service on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association. Jack was born October 21, 1935 in Swartz Creek, the son of Arthur H. and Hannah (Spillane) Artibee. He resided in Swartz Creek most of his life and later moved to Flint Township. Jack was a 1953 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy as a Master Mechanic. He married Shirley Lee Kerr on November 22, 1958 in Swartz Creek. He was employed at GM retiring after 30 years of service in 1991. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Flint. Jack was an on call fireman and EMT for 17 years for the Flint Township Fire Department. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers fan. He loved western movies and his little dog, Teala. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Lee Artibee of Flint Township; children, Debra (William) Berry of Davison, Mark (Natalie) of Aurora Colorado, Jacqueline Watkins of Flint, Lori (Mark) Galerneau of Flint Township, Cory (Amy) Artibee of Swartz Creek; Brother, Alan Artibee of West Branch; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
