Jack B. ALEXANDER

ALEXANDER, Jack B. - age 80, of Flint Township, died Sunday, August 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, August 31, 2012 at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, 4475 South Linden Road, Flint, with Pastor Brian Oswald and Rev. Marshall Delay officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday, 12-3 PM and 5-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, and 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to Glad Tidings Tabernacle. Mr. Alexander was born February 5, 1932 in Savannah, TN, the son of Brown and Bessie (Green) Alexander. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Glad Tidings Tabernacle for 60 years. Jack retired from General Motors with 39 years of service. Following retirement he worked part time for Car Quest. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing games and watching TV. He enjoyed spending time with children, grandchildren and his pet dog, Yogi Bear. He is survived by his wife, Violet; son, Timothy Alexander; grandson, Jared; granddaughters, Chandra, Gail Marie, and Rhonda; 6 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; siblings, Alton (Lois), Huey Paul (Glenda), Jimmy (Dawnie), Mary (Ernest) Qualls, Dorothy (Dan) Welty, Diane (Paul) Sivils; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
