SWARTZ, J. Dennis - age 75 of Flushing - Follower of Jesus Christ, servant of the Lord, faithful husband, loving father, proud grandfather and a friend to many, went home to his Eternal Rest on January 16, 2018. He was surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Road, Flint. Pastor Ron Swartz and Pastor Dave Hintz officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 4PM-8PM Thursday and Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to Carriage Town Ministries. Dennis was born January 6, 1943 in Omer, MI, the son of Joseph and Naomi (Byler) Swartz. He married AnnAlee Joyce Maxfield on October 4, 1969 in Flint. Dennis received a B.S. degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He was a Senior Accounting Analyst with GM for 36 years, retiring in 2001. Dennis was a long serving member of Central Church of the Nazarene where he was a church Board Treasurer, NMI President and Treasurer, and Middler Department Director. He served as Treasurer of Carriage Town Ministries from 2007-2008. Dennis was an avid U of M football and basketball fan and a Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. He also enjoyed studying his Amish and Mennonite family history, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Survivng are: his wife, AnnAlee; children, Julie (Steve) Niemann, Jonathan (Sara) Swartz, and Jeremy (Sarah) Swartz; grandchildren, Nathan Niemann, Kali Swartz, Jackson Swartz, Carter Swartz, Kamryn Swartz, and Emma Swartz; siblings, Lowell (Rose) Swartz, Gloria (Clint) Kinsell, Keith (Judy) Swartz, and Pastor Ron (Lucretia) Swartz.
