LENGEL, J. Richard - Age 83, of Linden, died December 31, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N Adelaide St., Fenton. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 12:30 PM . Visitation will be held 10:00 am - 11:00 am Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Habitat for Humanity. Richard was born January 6, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Carl and Mary (Smith ) Lengel. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church. He retired as an Electric Controls Engineer. Richard loved being on the water, boating, fishing, and water sports of all kinds. He enjoyed the woods and camping. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed family pictures and videos. Surviving are his wife, Sheila; son, Craig Lengel, Step-Sons, Adam (Kristene) Schneider and David (Kimberlee) Schneider; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Lengel, Katie Ann Lengel, Kayla (Craft) Brynn, Cody Craft, Austin Schneider, Andrew Schneider, Gavin Schneider, and Siena Schneider.. He was preceded in death by Father, Carl E. Lengel, Mother, Mary Alice Lengel; Son, Richard J. Lengel; Step-Son, Eric Schneider; and brother, David Lengel.
