Ishmael Wayne TURNER

TURNER, Ishmael Wayne "Shorty", age 61, of Flint, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Pastor Jerry Hubbard officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00-8:00 p.m. and 12 noon Monday until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Genesee County Animal Control, G4351 W. Pasadena Ave., Flint 48504 or Great Lakes Cancer Institute. Wayne was born August 20, 1950 in Bertrand, Missouri the son of the late Ishmael and Virginia (Scoggins) Turner. He married Peggy Clark on March 31, 1972 in Flint. Wayne was a 1968 graduate of Beecher Schools and attended Flint Junior College. He was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 2006 after 33 years of service. Wayne enjoyed golf, bowling and playing Suduko. More than anything he loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Peggy; 2 daughters, Missy Clark Miller (Steve), Tera Krause (Mike); 5 granddaughters, Nikki, Tori, Jessica, Jenifer, Samantha; 2 great-granddaughters, Savana and Kylie; 3 sisters, Virginia Svinarich (Bob) of Flint, Dott Watson (Ron) of Clio, Margaret Kish (Frank) of North Carolina; his Chihuahua, Lippy; and several nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to Great Lakes Cancer Center, McLaren Visiting Nurses Hospice, especially Tonya, and Family friend, Darice Bergeron Pauldine for all their love and support.
