Irving Berner

BERNER, Irving Seymour -- Age 85, of Flint, died November 5, 2021. Graveside services will be held 12 PM Sunday November 7, 2021 at Machpelah Cemetery, 4615 Branch Rd., Flint. Irving was born February 25, 1936 in Bay City, the son of Abraham and Rita (Fivenson) Berner. He married Florence Ray Koenig February 14, 1965 in Flint. He was a graduate of Central Michigan University and The University of Michigan. He was a teacher for Carman Ainsworth Schools for many years. He owned and operated two Dawn Doughnuts stores in Genesee County. After retirement he worked as an insurance agent for Franklin Life and AFLAC.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Florence; four children, Alan (Andrea) Berner of New Jersey, Kelly (Kevin) Bergeron of Rochester, Patti Spindel of California, Emily Bard of Oakland Township; grandchildren, Eliza, Zachary, Clayton, Nick, Shira, Shayna, Joshua, Isaac; two brothers, Robert (Linda) Berner, Gerald (Sylvia) Berner; several nieces and nephews.
