Iris P. Asbury

ASBURY, Iris P. - Age 79, of Burton, died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 10, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint with Pastor Dino Lasala officiating. Interment will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Saturday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Burton Senior Center or Feed the Children. Mrs. Asbury was born November 12, 1925 in Pearisburg, VA, the daughter of William and Beulah (Ferguson) Hobbs. She married Charles Asbury and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Asbury was employed by Greyhound Food Management at GM Grand Blanc Metal Fabrication for many years. She was active in the Burton Senior Center. Surviving are: five children, Rick Asbury, Timmy Asbury and wife, Tammie, Randy Asbury and wife, Jeanie, all of Burton, Robbi and husband, James Shumaker of Swartz Creek, Gregory Asbury and wife, Tina of Burton; step-son, Eddie Asbury of W. VA; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers; several nieces and nephews; many friends.
