ZIEGLER, Irene Patricia Onweller - Age 101, of Grand Blanc, died January 6, 2017. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Humane Society. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, January 14 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be 9-10 AM Saturday, January 14. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint Irene was born September 25, 1915 in Bay City, the daughter of John and Antonia (Lokaytus) Golobiewski. She was "Miss Flint" in 1932, "Miss AC", and had competed in several beauty pageants. She retired from A.C. Spark Plug and was a member of the 10 and up Club. She then retired from the Flint School Board. Irene was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Flint Golf Club, Elks Club in Grand Blanc, and the Garden Club. She was an avid golfer and skier and had a love of animals. Irene is survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly Onweller Moyer, Cary Onweller, Lisa Onweller Cave, and Todd Onweller; seven great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Arden Thomas Onweller and Jake Ziegler; sisters, Frances Nelson, Delphine Fisher; brothers Adolph, Everest, and Theo; and four infant siblings and son: Arden Thomas "Tommy" Onweller.
