Trubiro, Irene - Age 90, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, June 3, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Monday from 1-9 PM where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM and at church Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries or the Genesee County Humane Society. Irene was born February 19, 1927 in Flint. She was a 1945 graduate of Otisville High School. She married Joseph I. Trubiro May 18, 1957 in Flint and he preceded her in death January 27, 2012. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1957 coming from Otisville and Flint. She retired from AC Spark Plug in 1965 after 20 years of service. Irene was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church where she was active in the Women's Guild. She also was a member of the Friendship Club in Swartz Creek. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, ethnic cooking and baking, and listening to the Sunday Polkas, but especially spending time with her family. Surviving are: 3 children, Frank and wife Dorothy Trubiro of Davison, Joseph and wife Gina Trubiro of Rockford, and Cathy and husband James Lucas of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Kristen (Kenyatta) Stricklen, Kimberly (Christopher) Shieldsmith, Ashley (Josh) Munniksma and Lauren Trubiro; great grandchildren, Reese and Jensen Munniksma and Keelan, Kenya, and Kingston Stricklen; sister-in-law, Mildred Okenka; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Teresa Balcum, grandparents, Paul and Theresa Gasper, aunt and uncle, Helen and Hank Wisniewski.
