SHARP, Irene Mandyak- Age 81, of Flushing, died Friday July 20, 2007 at Avalon Hospice. Â Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St, Flushing. Monsignor Richard Groshek celebrant. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Â Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 6-8 PM Sunday; and 1-4 and 6-8 PM Monday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM; and at church from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass Tuesday. Â Irene was born January 24, 1926 in Flint the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Hanik) Mandyak. Â She married Lawrence H. Sharp January 20, 1951. Â She had resided in Flushing for the past 46 years, coming from Flint. Â She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Â She was also a member of St. Anne Guild at St. Robert's and was a life member of McLaren Auxiliary. Â She was very active at St. Robert Catholic School and Powers Catholic High School. She worked as the secretary for the personnel director at Chevrolet in Flint, before becoming a full time homemaker. The most important things in her life were her faith and her family. Â She was an avid spectator of her grandchildren's athletic and musical endeavors. Surviving are: husband, Lawrence; 3 children, Shelley and husband Larry Hitt of Denver, CO, William and wife Susan C. Sharp of Flushing, Scott and wife Susan J. Sharp of Flushing; 12 grandchildren, Luke (Kali), Stacey, Matthew, Andrew, Jennifer, Robert, Adam, Travis, Kevin, Michael, Patrick and Kellie; sister, Dolores and husband Walter Tyrrell of Flushing; 2 nieces, Michelle Tyrrell of St. Clair and Ellyn and husband Tim Herrick of Grand Rapids; 2 nephews, Tom and wife Janine Reid of Flushing and Sam Reid of Lake Orion. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Ann Reid, Mary Montague and Helen Hawes.
