Irene Jones

JONES, Irene Lillian - age 89, of Grand Blanc, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Winwood of Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. with Chaplain Brian Hansen officiating. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Mrs. Jones was born June 30, 1919 in Flint, the daughter of George and Lillian Irene (Pettis) Yagle. She married Don E. Jones on March 16, 1956 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1982. Mrs. Jones loved music, she played Bass Viola in the Flint Symphony Orchestra and taught piano for many years. She was also an artist with a passion for oil painting and all of her family members have one of her paintings. Mrs. Jones loved traveling but most of all loved to laugh living her life with a motto of laugh as often as you can. Surviving are: son, Alan Smith and wife, Bridget of Milford; three grandsons, Ronald and Franklin of South Lyon, Brian of AZ; four great-grandchildren, Frank, Alex, Nick and Samantha; two great great-grandson, Jordan and Connor.
