Ira Pratt

PRATT, Ira Eugene - Age 96, of Swartz Creek, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Ira's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Rev. Joel Close officiating. Ira was born September 13, 1926 in Caro, the son of Cleon Henry and Louise Mabel (Parsell) Pratt.  He was a graduate of Mary Crapo High School in Swartz Creek.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army.  He married Margaret Eleanor Horton June 1, 1947 in Swartz Creek and she preceded him in death May 1, 2016.  He had resided in Swartz Creek most of his life.  Ira retired in 1983 from GM Fisher Body Grand Blanc after 37 years of service.  He was a member of West Flint Church of the Nazarene, where he was a past board member, Treasurer, and a member of the choir.  He was a tinkerer and inventor and there was nothing he couldn't fix.  Ira loved his family and enjoyed traveling and camping.

Surviving are: his daughters, Carol Davidson-Spencer of Mackinaw City, Jeanette (Delbert) Sabin of Swartz Creek and Marion (Kenneth) Collard of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Herbert, Harland and Delbert Pratt.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
