Ione Elizabeth Garrett

GARRETT, Ione Elizabeth  age 94, of Linden, died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice. Mrs. Garrett was born January 25, 1912 in Kennett, MO, the daughter of James Carl and Cora Ann (White) Myers. Ione mothered her siblings at a very young age after her own mothers death. She married James R. Garrett on June 29, 1934 in MO and continued to mother her entire life for her family, own daughter and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: beloved husband of 71 years, James; daughter, Martha and husband, Richard Rhyndress of Linden; two grandchildren, Matthew Rhyndress and wife, Joellen of N. Muskegon, Angela Ione and husband, Daniel Hudson of Linden; five great-grandchildren, Noah and Aidan Rhyndress, Garrett, Olivia and Emily Hudson; brother, James Robert Myers; sister, Oglema Dodd; many special nieces and nephews.
