BOUCHARD, Ila B "Mom" - age 90, of Alger, formerly Flushing, passed away, December 14, 2020. A private funeral service will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Pastor Bill Jentzen officiating. Public visitation will be held Thursday 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ila's memory would be appreciated to the American Red Cross.
Ila was born in Flint, March 31, 1930, the daughter of Jacob Arthur and Martha Evelyn (Morey) Thomas. She married Irvin Eugene Bouchard in Illinois on January 3, 1951. Ila was a 1948 graduate of Flint Central High School. She worked as a Clerk for Kresge's Department Store and later The Fair Store North and South in Flint. Ila rode the bus downtown to work daily and enjoyed exploring Downtown Flint as a young lady. All of her friends called her "Mom"! She loved to crochet, even without a pattern. Ila also made dolls with beads and made several Afghans. Ila also loved to work Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She also loved animals and wild life and riding in Tom's hot rod.
Ila is survived by: her children, Roger (Joan) Bouchard, Karol (Dennis) Michelson, Tom Bouchard, Michael (Kim) Bouchard, and Michelle (Bill) Freeman; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Melvin (Emily) Thomas; many nieces and nephews.
