Hurshel Wise

WISE, Hurshel  Age 90, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, September 16, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Philip Gallagher officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9PM Saturday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Association.  Mr. Wise was born June 23, 1915 in Haleyville, Alabama, the son of Denver and Julie (Collier) Wise. Hurshel married Grace Prince April 4, 1937 in Alabama. He retired from General Motors, Metal Fabrication with 30 years of service.  He was a member of the UAW Local 659. Mr. Wise is survived by:  wife, Grace; daughters, Virginia (Donald) Fraidenburg of Swartz Creek, Mavis Jean (James) Baldwin of Argentine; son, Michael Hurshel (Beverly) Wise of Flint; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Quinn (Edna) Wise of Flint, Lindsey (Leta) Wise of New Hope, Alabama; brother-in-law, Robert Gaines of Flint; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wise was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 daughters, Joanne Wise and Janet Root; two sisters, Etheleen Gaines and Lorene Shutts.
