Hugh Jackson

Jackson, Hugh Philip - Age 65, of Flint, died November 29, 2018. Hugh's life will be celebrated by friends, family, and nieces, whom he loved dearly. Services at Christ Church Detroit, 960 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit, December 20,2018. Gathering for remembrance with family and friends at 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service will be held at 4:00PM. Those desiring may make contributions to: Rose Hill Foundation, Holly MI rosehillcenter.org. Hugh was born July 27, 1953 the son of Hugh Corwin and Hallie Lorene (Thompson, Jackson) Bennett. He was a man for all seasons and all sports. In the comfort of home, he enjoyed recapping key plays ranging from golf to hockey. Growing up in Detroit, Hugh never missed the roar of a boat race or a chance to play pick up hockey with his brothers Bruce and Mark. Close by, his dad and sister Karen joined in to clear the ice on the canals of Belle Isle. A great hockey mom, Hallie followed her sons team's whether he played on the Canadian or US side and cheered for the University of Minnesota when he skated, and later for the University of Denver, where he also played hockey and graduated. Often seen wearing one of his button topped signature caps, Hugh nicknamed his last dog Buttons who loved the ride to the local courses in Tennessee; where in later life Hugh had a chance to follow his faith, providing family caregiving and outreach activities at church.
