Howard Veenhuis

VEENHUIS, Howard Gordon - age 86, of Cheboygan, formerly of Flushing, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022. No services will be held. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Howard was born November 13, 1935 in Flint, the son of Bernard and Merodene (Brundle) Veenhuis. He was a 1953 graduate of Flint Central High School and attended General Motors Institute. He married Carolyn Marie Lee on September 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2021. Howard retired from General Motors in Product Design. He loved living on the lake in Cheboygan and spending time on Mackinac Island. Howard was an avid Michigan Football fan. Surviving are: three sons, Ron (Sharon) Veenhuis of Swartz Creek, Randy (Kim) Veenhuis of Orleans, and Rob (Julie) Veenhuis of Swartz Creek; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck Veenhuis. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; son, Rick Veenhuis, and two sisters, Margaret Tilley and Mary Jo Peterson.
