Howard Gane

GANE, Howard H. - age 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, died Thursday, February 23, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Gane was born October 6, 1933 in Flint, the son of Howard and Eva (Wolverton) Gane. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. Howard married Linda Ledwidge on June 15, 1968. He owned a flight instruction business in Flint and worked for various airlines through out his career. Mr. Gane retired from the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources in 1990 as the Chief Pilot. Surviving are: wife, Linda Gane of Fort Wayne, IN; three children, Douglas Gane and fiancée, Rebekka of Essexville, MI, Eva (Peter) Pagett of Morton Grove, IL, and Francine (Scott) Liebhauser of Fort Wayne, IN; eight grandchildren, Kylie (Shane) Gearhart, Ashley Pagett, Anne Pagett, Joshua (Rhachel) Liebhauser, Jacob Liebhauser, Haley Pagett, Thomas Pagett, and Logan Gane; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mahlon (Janine) Gane of Port Townsend, WA; Walter (Rosalie) Gane of Swartz Creek, MI; many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by: two infant brothers; his parents; brother, Donald Gane; brother-in-law, Richard Ledwidge; and many aunts and uncles.
