Honor Grace Grice

April 14, 1913 — June 28, 2007

GRICE, Honor Grace- Age 94, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held  11AM Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at First Church of God, 2100 N. M-52, Owosso. Pastor James Shanks officiating.  Family will receive friends 10AM Tuesday until time of service at church. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso. Visitation will be held 4-8PM Sunday and Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to Church Extension of The Church of God.  Mrs. Grice was born April 14, 1913 in Hope, Michigan the daughter of William A. and Mary M. (Hull) Carey. She married her school days sweetheart Ernest Floyd Grice on August 28, 1930 in Midland. When her husband entered the pastoral ministry in 1943, Mrs. Grice worked with him as they served pastorates in Louisiana, Illinois, and Michigan. Upon retiring from active pastoral work, they moved to Flint where Mrs. Grice was employed by Beecher School District as Unit Manager of the Dolan Junior High Cafeteria. Retiring in 1977, she and her husband moved to their home on North Eight Mile Road, Midland. After spending several winters in Florida and summers in Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Grice moved to Zephyrhills, FL, and later to Swartz Creek, MI. She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Rev. Ernest Grice; four children, William Grice (Dixie)of Lansing, Mary Loudenslager of Largo, FL, Carey Mauget (Louis) of Durham, NC, and Glenda Johnson (Kenneth) of Swartz Creek; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Wilma Grice of Owosso. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patsyann Lou Morgan; son, Duane Ernest Grice; and 2 sons-in-law, Joseph Morgan and Ron Loudenslager.
