Homer Phillip Adams, Jr.

July 12, 1921 — December 22, 2003

ADAMS, Homer Phillip, Jr.  Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, December 27, 2003 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Friday evening. Mr. Adams was born July 12, 1921 in Flint, the son of Homer Phillip, Sr. and Margaret Fern (Rouleau) Adams. He was a 1941 graduate of Linden High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Mr. Adams married Gloria May Genovesi in 1956 in Flint and she preceded him in death on August 17, 1990. He had resided in Swartz Creek for 50 years. Mr. Adams retired from General Motors as a Production Supervisor after 35 years of service. He was the Charter Secretary for the Swartz Creek Lions Club and was a member for many years. He was a charter member of the Linden VFW and a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Mr. Adams coached summer league baseball in Swartz Creek for many years. He was very proud to be a member of the Linden High School Sports Hall of Fame. Mr. Adams was presented an award from the City of Linden for his contributions to Fairview Cemetery and his donation of the irrigation system. He enjoyed golfing and loved his family. Surviving are: three sons, Dr. Mark Adams and wife, D Ann of Flushing, Dr. Craig Adams and wife, Judy of Midland, Scott Adams and wife, Lisa of Montrose, CO; five grandchildren, Kyle, Calli, Haley, Madison, and William Adams; two brothers, Kenneth Adams and wife, Sandy of Durand, William Adams and wife, Eloise of Tecumseh; sister, Joyce and husband, Herb Jacques of Linden; sister-in-law, Cecelia Adams of Fenton; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Adams was also preceded in death by: his parents, three brothers, Pete, Don and Richard Adams. Friends may share their online condolences with the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
