WOUGHTER, Holden "Dallas" - Age 91, of Flint Township, MI / Melbourne Beach, FL, passed away, Monday, November 16, 2009 at Crestmont Nursing Care Center. Cremation has taken place to honor his request. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 23, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, presided by Rev. David Flowers of Wildwind Community Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to M.S. Society, Autism Society or the charity of your choice. "Dallas" was born January 29, 1918 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Holden L. and Charlotte (Withey) Woughter. He married Dorothy Bernice Sias November 9, 1940. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four daughters, Bonnie (Robert W.) Phillips, Joyce (Ronald) Oskey, Linda (Dennis) McGovern, Sue (Charles) Henningsgaard; 16 grandchildren, Robert W. Phillips III and wife Lesa, Kathleen (Phillips) Zaroff and husband Matthew, James Woughter Phillips and wife Jody, Timothy S. Oskey and wife Sarah, Robert Dallas Oskey and wife Tracey, David McGovern and wife Melissa, Kelly (McGovern) Steffey and husband Steve, Aaron Henningsgaard, Abraham Henningsgaard and wife Jamie, Sarah Henningsgaard, Rebecca Henningsgaard, Elizabeth Henningsgaard, Jacob Henningsgaard, Hannah Henningsgaard, Mary Henningsgaard, Abigail Henningsgaard; 14 great grandchildren, Malachi Henningsgaard, Robert W. Phillips IV, Madeline Phillips, Olivia Phillips John Phillips, Jacob Zaroff, James W. Phillips II, Callie Phillips, Sean McGovern, Alyssa Oskey, Alayna Oskey, Kyle Steffey, Connor Steffey, Carson Steffey; sister, Gladys Elliot; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Rolfe and Nancy Hendricks; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dr. Harold Woughter; In-laws, Gale and Virginia Sias, Robert Elliot, Ada Woughter, Paul Rolfe, Jim Hendricks; great granddaughter, Grace Henningsgaard. Dallas was an accomplished wood carver, painter and designer. He designed and built his own home, held 3 patents and retired after 38 years of service as Director of Methods and Standards of GM Service Parts Operation. He was a lifetime member of the Flint Masonic Lodge #23 and Charter member of the Flint Township Lions Club.
