Hilma Mae Donahue, age 95, of Flint, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Flushing, Michigan. Hilma was born in Joliet, IL, on April 3, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Violet (Peterson) Donahue. Hilma took great pride in her Swedish heritage and cultural traditions. A lifelong resident of Flint, Hilma was a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a beloved teacher at St. Pius X Catholic School for many years, where she touched the lives of countless students. Hilma possessed a curious spirit and diverse passions. She was a talented artist and avid gardener, finding joy in nature's beauty. Her compassionate heart extended to all creatures, especially animals. Hilma adopted many cats and dogs throughout her life, providing them with loving homes and wonderful lives. She also cherished time spent with friends and with her dear cousin, Virginia Swenson. No services will be held, per Hilma's wishes. Burial will take place at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Howell. Hilma will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, creativity, and dedication to her faith, friends, students, and animals will be long remembered.
