Herman Smith

SMITH, Herman W. - Age 81, of Flint, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 16 at The Burton F.O.E., 3317 E. Bristol Rd., Burton. Pastor Randy Brokaw officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Herman was born May 14, 1936 in Vass, North Carolina, the son of John and Mary (Willard) Smith. He married Thelma L. Bellomy in Flint on December 24, 1960. Herman was employed by GM for many years as a Crane Operator. He also owned and operated Smith Used Cars for many years. Herman enjoyed horse racing, singing, and playing the guitar. He was know to his friends as "Smitty" and "White Socks". Surviving are: his beloved wife of 56 years, Thelma; sons, Tim Smith, Frank Smith, and Glenn Smith; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
