Herman James JETER

JETER, Herman James - age 88, of Lennon, died Monday, January 16, 2012. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Louis Canaday officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday, 1-3 PM and 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Mr. Jeter was born April 3, 1923 in Rogersville, TN, the son of John Herman Jeter and Elizabeth (Cross) Jeter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, and a member of the Durand AMVETS. He married Wilma Nave on August 18, 1945 in Welch, WV. Mr. Jeter retired from GM-Chevrolet. Surviving are wife Wilma; children Charles (Cindy) Jeter, Larry (Linda) Jeter, Roger (JoAnne) Jeter, Gloria Talbot(Mark Cooney); grandchildren, Heidi, Brenda, Erick, Shannon, Rachel, Stephine, Joe; great-grandchildren, Calvin, Cameron, Kaili, Grant, Abby; siblings, Shirley, Nelson, Daney, L.C. (Linton), John, Harvey, David, Kenneth, John R.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Nola, Guy, Ella, Henry, Carson, and Goldie.
