YAGER, Herbert Arthur -- Age 79, of Flushing, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, September 6 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to American Lung Association or Avalon Hospice. Mr. Yager was born March 2, 1928 in Cadillac, MI, the son of George and Viola (Henry) Yager. He married Grace Hill August 6, 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1975. He then married Evelyn Morse. He retired from  Buick Motor Division in 1986 and was a proud member of U.A.W. Local 599. He was an avid NASCAR fan and "weekend race warrior." Surviving are: wife Evelyn; 5 daughters, Rose (Ray) Murdock of Flushing, Deb (Dan) Harger of Montrose, Bonnie Rood of Indiana, Vicky (Leon) Thrasher of Alpena, Lori (Steve) Boyer of Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Adeline (Wayne) Ware of Cadillac, Pat Barber of Flint, Shirley Sharp of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews; special daughter-in-law, Sabina of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace; son Herbert Jr.; grandchildren, Rae Jean and Daniel; son-in-law, Stan Rood; and many more loved family members.
