Herbert Mckone

MCKONE, Herbert Raymond - Age 87, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, May 8, 2020. In accordance with Herbert's wishes cremation has taken place. No services have been scheduled at this time. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Herbert was born on November 17, 1932 in New Lothrop, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Walworth) McKone. He graduated from New Lothrop High School. Herbert and Afton Barber were united in marriage on January 12, 1952 in Angola, Indiana. He worked at GM in skill trade for 36 years before his retirement. Herbert was a fabricator, engineer and master of all trades, who could fix any thing given to him. He was a member of Elf Khurafeh Shrine. Herbert is survived by his 3 children, Jacki Smallwood (Laurie Gamblin), Danny (Theresa) McKone, Vicki (Randy) Limbaugh; 8 grandchildren, Samantha, Jeff, Danielle, Nikki, Nathan, Shannon, Sabrina, Tracy; 9 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Kayla, Evan, Easton, Brandon, Skyler, Ashton, Mackenzie, Merrick; great-great-grandson, Kingston; and brother, Lyle McKone. He was preceded in death by his wife, Afton McKone; son, Timothy McKone; parents, Lawrence and Dorothy McKone; and 2 sisters, Marcilene Raleigh and Jean Krupp. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
