JASTER, Helmut Ewald - Age 70, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the German Church of God, 2493 S. Elms Road, Swartz Creek, with Pastor Waldemar Makus officiating. Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Sunday from 3-5 and 6-8 PM and Monday from 6-9 PM, and at church Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1995 coming from Flint Township. He married Benita Jabs February 9, 1958 in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Jaster retired from GM Chevrolet Plant #38 as a Journeyman Machine Repairman. He was a member of the German Church of God. Surviving are: wife, Benita; 4 children, Edward and wife Denise Jaster of Swartz Creek, Doris and husband Leo Skinner of Flushing, Robert and wife Sue Jaster of Flushing, Ron and wife Doris Jaster of Grand Blanc; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Jonathan, Benjamin, Joshua, Bobby, Mandy, Kristin, Josiah, Matthew, Nehemiah and David; 4 great grandchildren, Ainsley, Abigail, Hunter and Aaron; 2 brothers, Siegfried and wife Elsa Jaster of Swartz Creek and Guenther and wife Monika Jaster of Maryland; sister, Magdalena and husband Kurt Heinze of Nebraska; several nieces and nephews.
