Helene Rutherford

RUTHERFORD, Helene M. - Age 71, of Linden, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021.  Per Helene's request cremation will take place and a service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the family to help with her funeral and medical expenses. Helene was born July 3, 1949 in Flint, the daughter of Marvin and Ann (Kraszewski) Gerbig.  She was 1968 graduate of Linden High School and she received a Bachelor's Degree from Baker College.  She married Roy H. Rutherford December of 1984 in Flint, and he preceded her in death Feb of 1985.  She retired from Intel as an IT Compliance Coordinator.  Helene was a member of the The Waterford Elks Club, Escapees RV Club and WINS Travel Group. She also was a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking, hiking, horseback riding, going to casino's and wineries, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her dogs Benjamin and Samantha.

Surviving are: son, Christopher (Tammy) Taylor of Linden; daughter, Tracie (Dwaine) Sutts of Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada; step daughter, Nora (Todd) Rutherford of Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; brothers, Marvin (Sue) Gerbig of Florida and James Gerbig of Washington State; sisters, Marsha Robinson of Wyoming, Annette Taylor of Holly, and Alexandra (David) Sims of Hillman; and several nieces and nephews.
