SUTKOWI, Helen Katherine - Age 93, of Fenton, passed away July 29, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to Old Newsboys of Flint. Helen was born July 8, 1929 in Pinconning, the daughter of Joseph E. and Anna (Knapp) Jankowski. She was a 1947 graduate of All Saints High School in Flint. She had lived in Fenton since 1959. Helen owned Merle Norman Cosmetic Boutique for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton Chamber of Commerce, where she had served on the board and volunteered. She was the founder of the Fenton Cancer Support Group and received the 1991 Community Service Award and Businesswoman of the Year Award. She was a member and past president of Entre Nous in Fenton. Helen is survived by her children, Michael Purzycki (Martha), Keith Purzycki (Joanne); Gary Sutkowi, Ken Sutkowi, Daniel Sutkowi (Anne), Richard Sutkowi (Lynne); daughter-in-law, Tanya Sutkowi; son-in-law, Marc Searight; special daughter, Aysun GURPINAR of Istanbul, Turkey; grandchildren, Anne, Jacquelyn, Karen, Nicholette, Erin, Ali, Kate, Matthew, Erich, Evan, Joseph, Paul, Chad and Jack; great-grandchildren, Nina, Tess, Lucille, Andrew, Beckham, Gabriel, Luke and Noah; siblings, Vivian Kielian (John), Lorraine Benjamin (Robert), Edward Jankowski (Carole); sisters-in-law, Carol Jankowski and Janet Jankowski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sutkowi; daughters, Roseanna Purzycki, Peggy Searight; son, David Sutkowi; sisters, Dolores Benjamin and Audrey Henry; brothers, William Jankowski and Arthur Jankowski.
