HORCHA, Helen Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, age 103, died peacefully, Sunday, December 27, 2020. Private services were held. She will be buried with her husband Joe, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Helen was born August 16, 1917 in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of John and Katherine (Labance) Luscik. She married Joseph Horcha on March 14, 1936 in Durand, MI and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1995. Helen and Joe owned and operated Joe Horcha Excavating Company, Inc. in the Flint area for many years. Along with running the office of the family business, Helen was known for her wonderful cooking skills, family meals, artistic and needlework abilities. Helen was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed. Surviving are four children: Joan Horcha and husband, Jerry Haddad of Fenton, Jerry (Paula) Horcha of Fenton, John (Zoe) Horcha of Grand Blanc and Janice (Mike) Richards of Hawthorn Woods, IL; seven grandchildren: Dawn (Mark) Nelson, Lisa Taylor, Matt (Brenda) Horcha, Kate Bishop, Stacey Horcha, Bart (Karina) Horcha, and Patrick Richards; nine great-grandchildren: Eric Nelson, Rachel Taylor, Luke Taylor, Hannah Horcha, Isabella Horcha, Boden Bishop, Benjamin Bishop, Jonathan Horcha and Kaelyn Horcha, and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents and all siblings. Helen lived the last few years of her life at Tanglewood Assisted Living Facility. The family would like to thank the staff at Tanglewood for their loving and dedicated care of our Mother.
