Helen Genevieve Helsius

HELSIUS, Helen Genevieve - Age 85, of Flint, died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Sunday, 2-4 and 6-9 PM Monday and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Mrs. Helsius was born January 22, 1921 in Lennon, the daughter of George and Barbara (Karacsony) Zsigo. She married Edward Helsius on December 15, 1951 and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1990. Mrs. Helsius retired from AC Spark Plug in 1975 after 38 years of service. Surviving are: four children, Elaine Helsius of Lennon, Barbara (David) Tagge of Boulder City, NV, Michelle (Martin) Grant of Flint, Mark Helsius of Flint; son-in-law, Laurence Dean of Flint; four grandchildren, Heather Helsius, Elizabeth Dean, Patrick Dean, and Jeremiah Jones; sister, Theresa Chargo of Lennon; sister-in-law, Joan Zsigo of Gaines; many nieces and nephews.
