Helen Gridley

GRIDLEY, Helen Rachel, age 102, of Lapeer (formerly of Flint) passed away on December 7, 2019 at The Pines with her children by her side. A Memorial Service will be held 6PM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be held at 4PM until the time of service Wednesday. Pastor Jack Dowden officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions would be appreciated to The Lapeer  Library, 921 W. Nepessing St., Lapeer, MI 48446.
Helen was born November 27, 1917 in Sparta, WI to Percy and Lettie Bowyer. Helen graduated from Flint Northern in 1935 and worked at Buick as a Comptometerist until marrying Lorain V. Gridley on  March 25, 1939. They were married 73 years when Lorain passed away in 2012 at the age of 101. Helen is survived by her children: Carol (Clyde) Hutton of Lapeer, Paul (Jennie) Gridley of Clio, David (Marcia) of Columbiaville. Six grandchildren, Chris (Dena) Hutton, Dr. Carman (Tim) Turkelson, Bob (Angie) Gridley, Dawn (Ken) VanHove, Shelley (Jim) Loftis, Shane Gridley. Fifteen great grandchildren: Christopher Hutton (fiancée) Katie, Ashleigh (Phil) Hill, Aaron Hutton, Sydney, Seth, Samantha Van Hove, Brittany, Luke, Garrett Loftis, Shayanne Gridley. Three (3) great-great grandchildren: Ryleigh, Wrangler, and Reagan Hill. Helen was preceded in death by her husband: Lorain in 2012, her parents: Percy and Lettie Bowyer and siblings: Lucille, Harold, Earl, Clarence, Mildred, and grandson Kenneth Gridley.
